Diamond Layers with Two Stamp Sets

Below is the sketch we are using as inspiration for our DOstamperStars Blog Hop. It is an AWESOME and easy sketch to follow! I've had a little sneak peek at some of the other cards on the hop and I think you'll come away as inspired as I was.

Cutting Instructions:
Card base: ½” sheet of cardstock
White or neutral layer: 4” x 5-1/4” (for stamping in the center area)
DSP Triangles: two 2”squares (cut diagonally to get 4 triangles)

I had selected two different stamps to play with for this sketch, but the whole thing went together so easily that I ended up with two cards! I really encourage you to pull out a stamp set, some coordinating inks and DSP and give this simple sketch a try!

For the pink card, I used Flirty Flamingo to stamp the images from Friends are Like Seashells. I then lightly added some gray marker to the edges to give it a drop shadow, which adds dimension and interest to the images.

Even those the art gallery stamp images are layered, I achieved the look of two-colors in the flower by stamping off. For the first layer, I inked up my stamp then stamped onto a piece of scrap paper, then without reinking, I stamped it on my layer. When I stamped the second layer, I inked it up and stamped directly to the layer. By removing a little ink from your shadow layer, it makes it appear lighter in color and works great for these two-stepped stamped images.

Military Uniform Camouflage Card

Do you have an active duty service member or veteran in your life? Or a student in ROTC? Then I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! I LOVED using the camouflage background stamp and the Suit & Tie dies from the Well-Suited set to create this fun military uniform style card. And do you see the name? I stamped that using the Make A Difference stamp set, it's the PERFECT size and font for the name tape! And if you are like me, Make a Difference will probably always be on your desk, it's so useful.

Check out my Stampin' Up! color suggestions below for making camouflage to represent all branches of the military!

Birthday Newspaper Card

Newsflash! Only one more day to get Approaching Perfection and Darling Donkey free with any $50 purchase from my Stampin' Up! online store. Sale-A-Bration ends Sunday at midnight, oh no!

This easy card was made with lots of fun stamping from multiple sets. Approaching Perfection is perfect for this humorous, newspaper-cover style card, but you can mix in any of your favorite sets to customize the "stories" to be whatever you need!

I used post-it notes to mask the donkey and chicken before I stamped them. After everything was stamped, I drew in some simple lines using a black pen and a ruler.

The Make A Difference stamp set has an amazing alphabet that I used to stamp out the "Vol 1" - you could stamp a birthdate, year or other favorite phrase.

Finally, I sponged around the edges and across the paper to add a little grunge to help achieve the newspaper look.
