Super Bowl Color Challenge

Congratulations to my home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on winning the NFC Championship and heading to a historic Super Bowl in my hometown of Tampa, Florida.

Am I excited? You bet!

How about a little color challenge? Use the Stampin' Up! colors above to create a card and post it on your blog, Facebook page or IG by NOON CST, February 7th, 2021. I'll use a random number generator to pick a winner. It doesn't have to be football or sports themed, just use the Bucs logo colors of Real Red, Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie in your design. And of course, you could really go old school Bucs and use Pumpkin Pie as your main color.

Use hashtag #stampkrewesuperbowlchallenge when posting on your social media. Tag me on IG @stampkrewe or send me an email when you are done!

Prize: A stamp set of your choice up to $20 USD from the
20-21 Stampin' Up! Annual or Jan-Jun '21 Catalog.

Hey Chick & Birthday Chick Sneak Peek

It's SATURDAY (can I hear an Amen?) and the DOstamperStars are back with a slimline challenge. I have to admit, this is one of my first attempts at this size and I think I kind of like it! It's great when you want to feature a LOT of images. So, since every stinkin' one of the Hey Chick & Hey Birthday Chick chickens are so cute, I had to do it.

Slimline Card Dimensions:
- Card base 8 1/2" x 7". Score at 3 1/2"
- Panel 8" x 3"

I like to add dimension to my card wherever possible, and one technique I LOVE is stacking die cuts. I die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment in Bermuda Bay three times, then adhered it together. I think this gives it a really nice look, and helps your sentiment stand out, literally.

Sweet Strawberry Card Samples

Winter days can be cold and gray up here in the North Star state of Minnesota. I think that is why I love to incorporate lots of bright colors in my cards. Bright colors like Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay break up the dreariness and boost my mood. The Sweet Strawberry & the Strawberry Builder punch in the new Jan-Jun '21 Mini are another great option to help ease use through the remainder of winter.

Last week my teammates and I made a few samples to highlight this beautiful set, including the complementing set, Berry Blessings, which can be earned for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, which ends February 28th.

Here are my two samples:

The layout for these two cards is nearly identical, I just picked from the two palettes of these sets, using layered rectangles of DSP to create the main design. The strawberries are punched from the Strawberry Builder punch, using the Designer Series Paper which looks exactly like the seeds of a strawberry fruit. The punch also cuts out the leaf stem and a little flower if you like.

For your strawberries, I recommend using Real Red or Pure Poppy. The blueberries stamp up beautifully in Pacific Point.

I sure hope you enjoy these cards as much as I enjoyed making them!

Love,
Aimee

SUPPLIES & DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut 1 petal pink cardbase to A2 sized, 5.5" x 8.5", scored at 4.25"
  2. Use petal pink ink to stamp hearts from Snail Mail randomly over the front.
  3. Use a scrap of basic white to die cut the tiny letter, and die cut a petal pink envelope, and the large square using a piece of DSP.
  4. Cut a piece of the red DSP with tiny pink hearts to 3" x 4".
  5. Stamp "Hello" on the tiny letter and adhere so it is popping out of your envelope.
  6. Fussy cut several of the mushrooms, and use a die to cut out a snail from the DSP. I adhered some of them with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Cut another piece of DSP (red with tiny pink hearts) to 3" x 4" and adhere to center of panel.
  8. Use dimensionals to pop up the yellow pieces of DSP, then arrange the rest of the elements, following the photo example above.
  9. Pop in an envelope, and send to a friend!

I hope you will join us on Saturday to see my Snail Mail demo as well as many other great demos and MYSTERY STAMPING!
